What Is an SMM Panel? A Straight Answer for Resellers and Buyers

What is an SMM panel? A wholesale shop for social media services priced per 1,000: how orders flow, who uses panels and what makes a good one.

What is an SMM panel? An SMM panel is a website where you buy social media services, such as followers, likes, views and comments for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other platforms, priced per 1,000 and delivered automatically. Resellers, agencies and creators use panels as the wholesale layer behind their own offers, ordering by hand in the panel or through an API.

SMM stands for social media marketing. The word panel comes from the dashboard you order in: paste a link, pick a service, enter a quantity, pay from your balance. Everything after that runs without anyone touching it, which is why panels became the default supply source for people who sell growth services.

How does an SMM panel work?

Most panels do not produce engagement themselves. They sit in the middle of a supply chain and route each order to a supplier that can fulfil it. A single order usually passes through four stages:

  1. Customer. A reseller, agency or creator pastes a link (a profile, post, video or channel), chooses a service and a quantity, and pays from a prepaid balance.
  2. Panel. The panel checks the order, charges the balance and sends the order to a supplier, usually over the standard SMM panel API.
  3. Supplier lines. A supplier line is one source that delivers a specific service. It may be another panel, a network of accounts or a specialised provider. Some panels rely on a single line per service.
  4. Platform. The engagement lands on the Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X or Snapchat link, and the panel reports progress back as the count rises.

That chain explains most of what goes wrong in this industry. If the one supplier behind a service stalls, the order sits at pending. If the supplier refuses a refill, the panel has nothing to pass on. We cover the supply side in more detail in Is there a main SMM provider? and the status names you will see in SMM order statuses explained.

Who uses SMM panels?

UserWhat they do with a panelHow they usually order
ResellersSell services to their own customers at a markup, often through a website or a chat channelWeb panel at first, then the API once volume grows
AgenciesAdd engagement services to client packages next to content and account managementWeb panel, sometimes the API for recurring orders
CreatorsGive a new post, video or profile an initial pushWeb panel, small orders
Panel ownersRun their own panel script and plug in one or more providers as the supply behind their catalogueAPI only, with the provider set up inside their script

The panel-owner row is the one people confuse most. Renting a child panel, running your own script and reselling over an API are three different business models; Child panel vs. API reseller compares them, and How to start an SMM reseller business walks through the first steps.

What do SMM panels sell, and how does pricing per 1,000 work?

The core catalogue is the same everywhere: followers and subscribers, likes, views, reel and story views, comments and similar actions. What changes between services is the source, the speed, whether a refill window is included and whether the service can be cancelled.

Prices are quoted per 1,000 units. You pay for the quantity you order, so the maths is simple. For example, a service listed at $2.40 per 1,000:

Quantity orderedCalculationOrder cost
5000.5 × $2.40$1.20
2,5002.5 × $2.40$6.00
10,00010 × $2.40$24.00

The price per 1,000 is only half the comparison. A service that is 20% cheaper but has no refill window, or takes hours to start, often costs more once you count redone orders and unhappy customers.

At Orbismm every service is priced in USD per 1,000, and the price of an order is fixed when you place it. Tiers are based on your spend over the last 30 days: Standard pays list price, Pro gets 5% off from $500 and Business gets 10% off from $2,500. The details are on pricing.

Is an SMM panel the same as ads or an agency?

No. All three can make an account more visible, but they sell different things and carry different rules.

Agencies often use panels behind the scenes, and some resellers are agencies. The platform-rules row matters: what it means for the accounts you order to is covered in Is SMM panel legal?.

What separates a good SMM panel from a weak one?

Most panels list the same services with similar names. The difference is in what happens after you pay, and four things are worth checking:

  • Measured start times. A start time measured on real orders tells you when delivery begins. A promise like "starts in 0–1 hour" written by hand tells you very little.
  • Refill that's honoured. A refill window is only useful if refill requests are actually delivered. Ask for the share of refills delivered, not just the window.
  • Automatic refunds. When part of an order can't be delivered, the undelivered part should return to your balance on its own, with a record of why. Opening a ticket to chase it is a warning sign.
  • Real support. People who answer around the clock, a published response time, and tickets that carry the order details so you don't have to repeat them.

How to choose an SMM panel turns these into a checklist you can run with a few small test orders.

How does Orbismm run its SMM panel?

Orbismm is a next-generation SMM panel for resellers. We sell Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and Snapchat services only, through a web panel and an API, and our team sets up every service by hand. Supplier catalogues are only a reference.

  • The panel reads the link you paste and offers only services that accept that link type.
  • Every service runs on a primary supplier line with tested backups behind it. If an order hasn't started within the service's start window, or stops progressing within its stall window, we cancel it at the supplier and send the undelivered part to the next backup line. At most 2 supplier lines receive money for one order.
  • Anything that can't be delivered is refunded to your balance automatically, with a ledger entry that says why.
  • Each service shows its median start time on our own orders over the last 30 days, its speed per 1,000 and its refill honoured rate. New services show "Measuring" until 30 orders have started.
  • People answer tickets 24/7, every day of the year.

From Orbismm order data

Measured on Orbismm's own orders over the last 30 days. Orders placed: still being measured. Median start time: still being measured. Median first reply to a support ticket: still being measured.

Any account can order in the panel and use the API from day one, with no deposit, monthly, setup or API fees. The standard API v2 works with any panel script that supports providers, and the full service list is on services, with refill and cancel rules on refill and cancel.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is an SMM panel, in plain terms?
It is a website that sells social media services such as followers, likes and views at wholesale prices per 1,000. You paste a link, choose a quantity, pay from a prepaid balance and the order is delivered automatically.
Is an SMM panel the same as an ad agency or an influencer marketplace?
No. Ads place a labelled promotion in front of a targeted audience, and agencies and influencer marketplaces sell people's work. A panel sells measurable units of engagement and nothing else.
Who actually uses SMM panels?
Mostly resellers who sell services to their own customers, agencies that add engagement to client packages, creators who want an early push, and panel owners who plug providers into their own script through the API.
How does pricing per 1,000 work?
The listed price covers 1,000 units, and you pay in proportion to the quantity you order. At $2.40 per 1,000, for example, 2,500 units cost $6.00.
Does an SMM panel deliver the services itself?
Usually not. Panels route orders to supplier lines. At Orbismm every service has a primary supplier line with tested backups, and a stalled order is moved to the next backup automatically.
