YouTube SMM Panel Guide: Views, Subscribers, Watch Time and Monetization Thresholds
How YouTube services on an SMM panel work: views vs subscribers vs watch time, retention, the Partner Program thresholds, and channel vs video links.

A YouTube SMM panel sells YouTube services such as views, subscribers, likes and comments, priced per 1,000 and delivered to a video or channel link. They change the public numbers on a video or channel. They are not a dependable route into the YouTube Partner Program, because YouTube validates views and watch time and removes what it treats as invalid.
YouTube is the platform where the gap between what a counter shows and what the platform actually values is widest. This guide explains how views, subscribers and watch time differ, what retention means on a service listing, what YouTube publicly requires for monetization, and which link each service needs.
What is the difference between YouTube views, subscribers and watch time?
| Metric | What it measures | Link it needs | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Views | How many times a video was watched, after YouTube's validation | Video or Shorts link | The public popularity signal under every video |
| Subscribers | People who chose to follow the channel | Channel link | Channel-level social proof and a monetization threshold |
| Watch time | Total hours people spent watching public long-form videos | Built up by views, video by video | A monetization threshold and a core ranking input |
| Likes | Thumbs-up on one video | Video link | Visible approval; the dislike count is no longer public |
| Comments | Replies under one video | Video link | Visible activity, judged by quality |
Views and watch time are related but not the same. Ten thousand views that each last 15 seconds add up to about 42 hours of watch time. The same ten thousand views at an average of four minutes add up to about 667 hours. On YouTube, the second number is the one that tells the platform people wanted to watch.
What does retention mean on a YouTube service?
In YouTube Studio, audience retention shows how much of a video people watched and where they left. Average view duration is the headline figure. On panel services, retention is used to describe how long each delivered view stays on the video, for example a service described as holding one to three minutes per view.
Two things are worth knowing. First, retention on a listing is a description of the service, not a promise about how YouTube will count it. Second, a video's own average view duration is shaped mostly by its real audience. A spike of short views can pull the average down and make the video look less engaging in Studio, even while the view counter goes up.
Impressions and views are different numbers. An impression is YouTube showing a thumbnail to someone; a view is someone watching. Impressions click-through rate, the share of impressions that became views, is one of the numbers YouTube creators watch most closely.
Can purchased watch time get a channel monetized?
This is the most asked YouTube question, so here is a straight answer: purchased watch time is not a reliable path to monetization. YouTube publishes its YouTube Partner Program requirements, and at the time of writing they include:
| YouTube Partner Program route (YouTube's public requirements) | Subscribers | Plus one of |
|---|---|---|
| Full ad revenue sharing | 1,000 | 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months, or 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days |
| Earlier access to fan funding features (available in some countries) | 500 | 3 public uploads in the last 90 days, plus 3,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months or 3 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days |
YouTube changes these thresholds and they vary by country, so check YouTube's current rules before relying on the figures above. The important word in all of them is valid. YouTube filters views and watch hours it considers invalid, can remove them after the fact, and reviews channels by hand before accepting them. Its policies prohibit artificially inflating views and engagement, and a channel can be rejected or removed from the program for it.
- Watch time that YouTube later removes can take a channel back below the threshold.
- A reviewer looking at a channel sees traffic sources and retention, not just totals.
- Promising a client that an order will get them monetized sets up a dispute you can't win.
What panel services can reasonably do on YouTube is make a new video or channel look active when visitors arrive. What earns monetization is content that holds real viewers. Is SMM panel legal? covers the platform-rules side in more detail.
Why do YouTube view counts freeze or drop?
YouTube validates views before and after they appear. A counter can pause while YouTube checks new traffic, and some views can be removed later. Subscribers can also fall when YouTube closes accounts it considers inauthentic. Both show up as a drop.
At Orbismm each service shows its refill window before you order (for example 30 days, 60 days, lifetime or none). Refills inside the window are free, and each service shows its refill honoured rate, the share of refill requests actually delivered. "Non-drop" means low drop, never zero. Drops after the window, or on services without refill, aren't refunded. Our guide to what SMM refill covers goes through the edge cases.
Channel link or video link: which one does each YouTube service need?
Subscribers go to a channel link such as https://www.youtube.com/@handle. Views, likes and comments go to a video link such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=…, and Shorts use links like https://www.youtube.com/shorts/…. Short youtu.be links point to the same video but are easier to mix up with the wrong upload.
- Keep the video public. Private videos can't receive views; unlisted videos behave differently across services, so check the service details first.
- Don't change the video's visibility or delete it during delivery. Orders delivered to a wrong link aren't refunded.
- Order to one link at a time. On services where it matters, Orbismm queues a second order for the same link until the first finishes.
The panel reads the link you paste and offers only services that accept that link type, so a channel link never shows a views service. The catalogue is on the YouTube services page.
How does Orbismm run its YouTube services?
Every service is set up by hand by our team and runs on a primary supplier line with tested backups behind it. If an order hasn't started within its start window, or stalls within its stall window, we cancel it at the supplier and send the undelivered part to the next backup line. At most 2 supplier lines receive money for one order. Anything that can't be delivered is refunded to your balance automatically, with a ledger entry that says why.
From Orbismm order data
From Orbismm order data: still being measured orders placed in the last 30 days, with a median start time of still being measured. Each YouTube service lists its own median start time, speed per 1,000 and refill honoured rate.

Frequently asked questions
- Do YouTube watch-time services count toward monetization requirements?
- Not reliably. YouTube counts only valid public watch hours, filters and removes traffic it treats as invalid, and reviews channels by hand, so purchased watch time can disappear or lead to rejection.
- What are the YouTube Partner Program requirements?
- At the time of writing, YouTube's public requirements for ad revenue sharing are 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 valid public watch hours in 12 months or 10 million valid public Shorts views in 90 days. They change, so check YouTube's current rules.
- What is the difference between impressions and views on YouTube?
- An impression is YouTube showing your thumbnail to someone; a view is someone actually watching. Click-through rate is the share of impressions that turned into views.
- Why did my YouTube view count stop moving during an order?
- YouTube validates new views and can pause the public counter while it checks them. Some views can also be removed later, which is a drop that refill covers inside the window.
- Do subscribers need a channel link or a video link?
- Subscribers need the channel link. Views, likes and comments need the video or Shorts link.
